In the desert is where you learn what counts in life. Enumerating is another word for eternalizing. In the wilderness, leaders are made – and born. When you travel you learn a lot more about yourself than when you are stagnant. You learn about holiness, priestly blessings and red heifers. You learn how scary it is to leave the wild for the Promised Land. You learn turning a comatose state into living water is best done through articulating, rather than implementing. Devastating things happen in the wilderness as well: the greatest people pass away, kings try to curse you, brothers argue with one another. But, ultimately, the curses turn into blessings, the passions for good overcome the opposite and, through countless journeys, you learn what it means to inherit, possess, and cherish a land promised.
