Yud-Tes Kislev
The creation of the world has a Rosh Hashanah. So does Chassidism.
The founder of Chabad-Lubavitch, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the Alter Rebbe, was freed from prison. More: the deepest mysteries and mystiques of the universe were freed from their lofty hiding places. On this day, the ability to see the world the way the Creator sees the world was gifted to anyone willing to study. Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge – by delving into the Inner Torah of Chassidut, simpletons such as you and I may now analyze the world as the Creator analyzes the world, and live as the Creator intended for us to live. When the Alter Rebbe was released from the cell, so was the entire chain of the universe.
The Prisoner
This is the story of the Shabbat that the Alter Rebbe spent on the side of the road as a prisoner of the Russian government in 1798. This is an excellent story to read at a Shabbat or holiday gathering.
