Vayeishev
Being settled is not ceasing to move. Being settled allows you to move.
Jacob and his family settle in Hebron. Jacob fashions a multi-colored coat for his son Joseph. The other tribes aren’t exactly pleased. Joseph has two dreams. His brothers deem it a nightmare. They throw him in a pit and sell him to a band of nomadic Ishmaelites. Jacob, believing Joseph is dead, is heartbroken. The seeds of the royal family of Judah are planted. Joseph is sold to Egypt and, when the handsome slave repels certain promiscuous advances, he is thrown into prison. Pharaoh’s butler and baker have dreams too. Joseph interprets them.
